We Birth Words
We Birth Words
How wondrous are we?
Sometimes we hold a seed
for lifetime
Gestating
nurturing,
growing, until,
Until
Until
Something inside of us
says NOW, and then
And then
And then
We birth
books,
prayers,
poems.
We birth
businesses at 50
Friendships at 70
Art at 80
How divine.
We are meant for this
continuous becoming.
Becoming
Becoming,
whatever calls to us
from deep within bellies
that have held love,
sorrow,
passion,
grief,
wisdom.
Swollen with promise,
What we birth is medicine.
And that light
that you see
shining in our eyes
Is a beacon
of Hope.
So yes, we shut them
when we’re tired,
resting and tending ourselves
and each other
And then
And then
And then, we open them
To the wonder
That is this lifetime.
And we birth the medicine
We were born to bring.
Your Life is Now
Come sister,
Come.
We’ve got work to do.
Even though I’m 62, it’s still new for me to share my writing.
Sometimes I don’t know exactly what category my writing belongs in.
Poem, Activation…? No matter, I let it flow and share it when it feels right to me to do so.
You don’t always need to know either.
It’s okay to take small, imperfect steps towards the life that is drawing you.
